Its 2025 and I wanted to update everyone on current projects in the pipeline!
First up - Star Wars for Topps - This year was the year of the Speed Paint set for me though I also tackled one or two side pieces as well. This was such a fun set last year and bleeds a bit into the top of this year with another release coming soon! Painting such iconic portraits was a blast and the best part of this set? The portraits are all recorded in time-lapse for the digital cards. For those curious - they each take me about 45 minutes to complete from pencil sketch to finished painting. The response to the set has been amazing and I hope to bring more of this kind of content to Star Wars fans this year.
Coming very soon is the second volume of the Temeraire Omnibus by Naomi Novik - An Empire of Wings. It can be pre-ordered now and limited to only 1000 copies signed by Naomi Novik and myself! Some of the interior plates are below and you can preorder the book here. I have been working on the final volume the last few months so that should be coming sometimes this year.
A number of book covers for various authors and publishers has also been in the works. More to come on those over the next couple of months but one project I wanted to mention, and also Dragon-related, are the hundreds of small paintings I’m doing for Christopher Paolini’s World of Eragon Kickstarter that went super viral - raising $1.7 million in a month! Below are the two samples and if you want to get in a late pledge, they will be taking a limited number of extras over the next few months.
Finally, another project on my list for this year and coming in March - is Volume 2 of my Daily sketches art book. Its been tough working on personal work at the same time as publisher work, but I’ve squeezed it in here and there over the last few years. and Yes, when Volume 3 is done - a slipcase cover will also be available! For now, Onward and Upwards!
